Crash in Huntington Beach claims lives of 2 teenage brothers

Most parents in California and elsewhere can’t imagine losing one child to a preventable tragedy such as a car accident, let alone two. However, one family is unfortunately having to deal with such a tragic loss since a car accident claimed the lives of their two sons recently. The crash happened just after 8 a.m. on Monday, March 7. Two brothers, both teenagers, were in a 1990 Ford F-250 pickup when they were involved in a collision with a 2018 Chevrolet Silverado. The Silverado pickup was a city vehicle owned by Huntington Beach.

The 38-year-old driver of the Silverado was a city employee and reportedly not hurt in the crash. However, the two teens were not so lucky. One brother, 18, died soon after being taken to the hospital, but his brother, age unspecified, was listed in critical condition until finally succumbing to his injuries. Although authorities do not suspect alcohol or drug impairment, they did not declare a possible cause for the crash, and the accident is still under investigation.
