Wrong-way accident kills 3

A terrible accident in California claimed three lives and sent three others to the hospital. The accident was apparently caused by a wrong-way driver. Accident details

Around 6:30 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 14, officers with the California Highway Patrol responded to a call of a head-on collision on the 210 Freeway. There they found two vehicles involved: a 2001 Lexus SUV and a 2012 Ford Fusion sedan. Apparently, the driver of the Fusion was heading east in the westbound lanes, causing the crash.

Both drivers died at the scene. The SUV driver was listed as a 43-year-old man, and the Fusion driver was a 23-year-old man. A 16-year-old female passenger in the SUV succumbed to her injuries at the hospital a short time later. Three others in the SUV all suffered major injuries, and they were described as a 42-year-old woman, a 5-year-old girl and a 3-year-old boy. No one else was reportedly in the Fusion other than the driver.

Obtaining financial relief

The report did not mention why the Fusion driver was driving the wrong way, and nothing was mentioned as far as alcohol or drug impairment. Regardless, the injured victims and surviving family of the deceased can pursue compensation from the at-fault driver.
