2-car accident claims life of passenger

Passengers in motor vehicles place their lives and safety in the hands of the driver. Although most drivers in California follow the rules of the road and drive safely, other drivers may act recklessly behind the wheel. Other times, drivers may not know how to properly control their vehicles in certain situations to avoid a crash. No one knows what caused one car to lose control, but the resulting accident claimed the life of a passenger.

Accident details

Around 3:15 p.m. on Oct. 19, a Nissan was traveling on Warren Road in Hemet, going around 50 mph. For reasons unknown, the car drifted onto the shoulder, and the driver overcorrected to get the car back on the road. As a result, the car skidded into opposing lanes of travel and collided with a Toyota SUV. The Toyota was also traveling around 50 mph.

The crash claimed the life of a passenger in the back seat of the Nissan. Paramedics declared the 39-year-old man dead at the scene. Three others suffered major injuries and were transported to a regional trauma center. No word was given as to which vehicles the injured were in at the time of the crash or whether either driver was hurt. Further, police do not suspect alcohol or drug impairment, but the crash is still under investigation.
